PBL SS and Career Ed

Social Studies

This year is a pilot project for a new Social Studies course called Social Studies Explorations that will look at content not previously covered that looks at an integrated approach to major historical events and ideas. It is a research based course that will meld key ideas together. 

 

This course will cover some of the following topics:

 

- Democracy and Elections

- Major Figureheads in History

- Major Disasters 

- Natural Wonders

- Current Events

Career Ed / Leadership

Career Ed is going to focus on employability skills and knowledge. The intent is also as a preperatory course for post secondary opportunities and to get community involvment. 

 

The course will cover the following:

 

- Resumes 

- Cover Letters

- Volunteerism / Peer Leadership

- Post Secondary Ambitions and Planning
